Pay at Table did one thing well. It let guests settle the bill from their phone, at the table, the moment they were ready to leave. View the bill, split it by item or by share, add a tip, pay, go. The dead time at the end of a meal, waving for attention and waiting for a card machine, simply disappears.

The craft was in the details. Splitting a bill between four people who each ordered different things is a genuinely fiddly interaction, and tipping carries social weight the interface has to respect. We sweated the sequencing so the fastest path stayed fast and the awkward cases didn't trip anyone up in front of their friends.
