Open Check let a guest open a tab from their phone and keep it running for the whole visit. Scan, order, order again an hour later, all on the web with nothing to download. The check followed the guest around rather than the other way round.

Designing it meant thinking hard about state. A check that stays open across rounds, table moves and patchy connections has to be honest about what's confirmed, what's pending and what the night will cost when it ends. We worked through the ordering flows, the running total and the handover to payment so that settling up felt like a natural close to the evening rather than a chore tacked onto it.
